Why become a member?

Membership benefits include:
  • Access to numerous workshops and skill development opportunities which MRID sponsors or co-sponsors; members are often admitted to these at a reduced rate
  • With dual membership (MRID and RID), have the opportunity to chair or work on a committee

When is membership renewal?

To ensure continuing membership, a member should renew before July 1, xxxx. Membership dates correspond with our fiscal year.


 

When is the fiscal year?

July 1 - June 30


 

Why is there a fiscal year?

As an Affiliate Chapter under the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), MRID membership year must coincide with the fiscal year of RID.


 

Who are the Board of Directors and what are their roles?

Are Board of Directors meetings open to the public?

YES!  There is also an option to attend virtually.  Any requests for this access must be made through MRID's treasurer at [email protected], preferably a week in advance.


 

What mode of communication is used at the Board meetings?

American Sign Language 


 

What is an Ad Hoc committee and why do we need them?

An Ad Hoc committee is formed for a specific or special task or objective.  They only convene as long as the task or objective is not completed. Once completed, the committee is disbanded.


 

Who do I contact for a question about _________?

The best place to start is your Regional Representative.  If they can’t answer your question, or feel that another individual can be of more assistance, they will give you direction on whom to contact.


 

How do I log into www.mrid.org?

On the home page, at the top right, click on the tab “Member Login”.  On the next screen, enter your User ID and Password. If it is your first time logging in, please follow the prompts to create your user account.


 

How can I get involved?

Contact any of the Board of Directors! We are always looking for people to get involved!
